Bedtime with Skylar

Skylar was on the floor on her blankie with her Lovey and her book...all ready for storytime and then it would be off to bed!

Tonight we are reading You and Me by Martine Kindermans

Look at this big girl! She even holds the pages for Momma.

Skylar gets very animated when Momma reads to her. She usually kicks her feet and bangs on the pages with her sweaty little hands.

Her story was all finished so she laid down and listened to Momma sing to her.

She was peaceful for a very short while but naturally that didn't last for long.

My baby girl absolutely hates "tummy time" and had a catagory five meltdown right there on the floor.

Momma picked up the screaming baby and made her feel better.

Sunday morning breakfast with Skylar

Good morning everyone! Here I am sitting in my Bumbo chair on the dining room table ready to have breakfast with my Momma. Do you like my new Disney Princess jammies? Momma & Daddy got them fer me yesterday at Wal Mart.

Doesn't breakfast look super-yummy-delicious this morning? Momma made me granola and apples cereal. It's one of my most favortist things to eat! Yummm!

Big girls like me take real big bites like this off the spoon. MMmmmm this is SO good!

Food doesn't taste nearly as good unless you're wearing a bunch of it on your face like this.

Okay, I ate my cereal and had my bath. Now I am dressed and I gots my Dodie. I'm ready to go to Lowe's now, Momma!

Easter pics and a warm spring day outside

Skylar and Momma had our very own photo shoot one night and took pictures of her in eight different dresses while Daddy took a nap in her big girl bed. I guess he got bored watching us play dress up.

I decided on these first two pictures as her Easter pics and finally got all her cards mailed out this morning. Isn't my baby girl a beauty?

Skylar in her swing being pushed by our friend Roger.

She looks like she's concentrating doesn't she?

My little shnookems fell asleep in her swing!

Skylar absolutely LOVES being outdoors.

She was relaxing in her Bumbo chair...sittin' atop the dining room table while we ate the burgers and hot dogs and homemade potato salad and beans that I made for Tara's birthday dinner. Afterwards we ate the Heath Bar cheesecake that I made from scratch. I totally forgot to take a picture of it for my collection. Oh well.....guess I'll just have to make another one. =)

Here was my not-so-happy princess in her new Johnny Jumpa-Doodle thing. I know....that's not the name of it really but that's what I like to call it.

She sat in her space car in the backyard just off the deck watching Daddy pull weeds and plant vegetables in his garden.

Six-months-old on 3/7/09!

Watching t.v. from Momma's chair Friday night before we went away for the weekend.

In the car in the driveway getting ready to take off on our drive to Dave and Christine's house in Chickamauga for cousin Renata's baby shower. Daddy rigged up her dvd player on the back of the passenger seat and she watched The Backyardigans all the way there. Well, except for those brief moments when she was "resting her eyes."

We stopped at a truck stop just before getting on the interstate so the dogs could pee. Skylar stretched out in the back and got her panties changed. She kicked and talked the whole time with wide eyes...watching all the activity going on in the parking lot.

At the party sitting outside on Daddy's lap....giving that little pouty face.

At Grammy & Peepaws house waiting to eat her breakfast of peaches and rice cereal. Yum!

After breakfast she played in her space car while Momma, Grammy and Peepaw looked on.

We decided to let Daddy go back to bed and we went with Grammy and Peepaw for a drive to Murphy, North Carolina to go to Wal Mart. Until they open the new Blairsville store this fall that's where Grammy has to go to do her Wal Mart shopping.

After we came back from North Carolina we picked up Daddy and we all went to Cobb's Mill for lunch. The name of the restaurant is actually Antonietta's now but we still refer to it by it's previous name. It's a family-run restaurant with great food. Momma forgot to bring Skylar a bottle so Grammy ordered her some mashed potatoes which she totally objected to. She kept spitting them out I'm guessing because of the texture. She continued to have a fit so after we ate our salads we got them to box up our lunches and we took them home so the princess could have her bottle.

When we got back home to our house Daddy hung up her new swing on the back porch before he had to go to work. She absolutely LOVES the swing and has spent many hours in it over the last three days. I can see we'll be spending a lot of time outside this summer!

5 1/2-month-old with clothes on

Wearing her black crushed velvet jumper. She threw up on it right after I took this picture.

Numming on her hands because Momma misplaced her dodie.

All clean and smelling purdy after her bath.

What was that you sayed Momma?

Skylar in her underbritches. She wears a thin onsie under everything.

Skylar in her jammies and ready to go ni-night.

Fat naked baby!

Let this be the proof to everyone that my baby girl is a little chunker. She's got rolls on her rolls. Look at those baby boobies! She needs a tiny brazier.

Lately she is fascinated with her tongue like she just realized it's there and can stick it out and point it to the left or to the right or slide it across my lips suddenly when Momma goes to kiss her.

Our latest bathtub shot. Look how big she has gotten! I can remember when she was swallowed by the size of her bath chair and now she's almost too big for it. Please note the wash rag strategically placed over her bajingo area....we wouldn't want to be accused of posting baby porn.

Look at my big girl ready for her bath. I'm hoping her birthmark will shrink and fade.

Ready to get in the bathtub and get cleaned up after she pooped and puked all over herself.

Five months old

This smile melts my heart every single day.

She went down for her nap with her Lovey Bunny. I caught her kissing (slobbering on) it a few times.

She is wearing mostly 6-9 month old clothes though there have been a few things that she's just too chunky for. Here she can finally wear the outfit that Auntie Acia & Unkie James bought her.

She clasps her hands a lot like she's praying. Each day her hand/eye coordination gets a little better.

She was sitting in her new walker that looks like a space car. She loves it though her feet can't touch the floor yet. There's still some pretty cool gadgets for her to play with on it.

Big 4-month-old girl!

This four-month-old beauty is mastering the fine art of chewing on her toys which she does with gusto. She can be real calm and quiet....stick a toy in her mouth and she starts jabbering really loud.

She was hanging out watching tv with her daddy after her nummy yummy breakfast bottle.

Here she is spending time with her Grandma. We are very glad that they got to see each other again. Her Grandma is very sick and about to leave for Texas to seek cancer treatment =(

Here she is kicked back in Momma's chair...relaxing with her dodie after coming back from visiting with her Grandma, Grams & Nina.

Skylar has started becoming very expressive with her eyes lately. Look at these bug-eyed baby blues.

My little beauty looks like she is looking up at herself making googly eyes. Kind of reminds me of the opening and closing credits of The Brady Bunch. "Here's the story..."

I accidentally came across this adorable easter jumper in her top dresser drawer the other day. I had completely forgotten about it. I was afriad that it wouldn't fit as she is starting to wear 6-9 month-old clothes now and this outfit is 3-6 month. I was pleased that I was able squeeze her in it. I might be able to get a couple more days out of it.

Just chillin' with her dodie.

Baby Potato Head. We're hoping one day she'll eventually grow some hair that you can actually "see".
